You Have a Choice
We are writing to you today to let you know that you have a choice. Whether you rent or own, been at Lisle Place a month or a decade, try to follow the rules or have given up completely, you know one thing:
Something isn’t right.
You may have lived in a condo or an apartment with an association, or this may be your first time. What’s the difference? The way this association is run.
Your car may have been towed. You may have been fined for a violation you didn’t commit. You may have noticed that something you reported broken never got fixed. You may have noticed that common elements haven’t been updated or repaired in a decade. You may have tried to get ahold of someone for help but they ignored you. You may have been treated rudely or disrespectfully by the property manager and her associates. You may have even written one of the dozens of 1-star reviews here:

You may not know the whole story. You may not know that the Board didn’t pull permits for the 150+ balcony railings that were installed illegally. You may not know that the design would not pass inspection and will likely rust within 2 years. You may not know that the Board purchased 16 units after they put the rental restriction in place and proceeded to rent them all out. You may not know that the Board paid $86,500 to the Village of Lisle for de-annexing using our money. You may not know that the Board plans to get a voting majority to deconvert the condos back to apartments, offering current owners pennies on the dollar for their units. After 8 years of “serving” on an HOA Board with no compensation, why are they so desperate to stay in power that they would attempt to steal an election?
You may think that no one cares and this is the way it has to be. You may think there’s nothing you can do. You may think I’ll just move out, not renew my lease, or sell my place.
We are here to tell you that you do have a choice. There is something you can do. And there are people that do care. We care so much that we raised over $7,000 in less than 24 hours and put 11 plaintiffs with signed affidavits on a lawsuit against the Board to stop the fraudulent election that was supposed to occur on January 25th. And we won! The judge granted our request and ordered a halt to the election.
This is only the first step. We need your help to Save Lisle Place. We are receiving major support from homeowners. Many of us have been fearful of retaliation but our strength lies in our numbers. It's time for all of us to come forward and save this community from being taken over by a few greedy tyrants.
A free and fair election is coming. Our attorney is currently in negotiations with the Board and their attorneys around how it will be governed. Look out for nominees for a new Board soon. Please contribute to our legal fund. We are not done in court and we know this Board will fight. You can do so here:
